The Christmas decorations are wonderful : so elegant and classy. Please try to visit The Dome over the festive season : you will not be disappointed. I would strongly advise booking in advance for lunch or dinner. The Dome in December, what can I say? My first meeting with this old bank building was in its Christmas decorations. And for a Christmas lover as myself it was just perfect! The food is great and so are the drinks.
There is a energetic atmosphere around you, you can sit and enjoy the view of a huge Christmas tree over the bar still being able to talk, or just look at all the happy people around you.

The price is above average for the city but you pay for the experience ;. This place was brilliant! The building, decorations and the food were overwhelming. A must visit at anytime of the year and especially at Christmas. The Dome is situated in central Edinburgh so very easy to reach if you're in the City - it's close to bus, rail and teams. We went with friends after originally planning to go elsewhere and, not being able to get in, thought we'd see if they had room at the Dome.
Despite it being a busy mid-afternoon, we had to wait no more than 5 minutes for a table. It was early November and, to my usual views, too early for Christmas decorations but the Dome do such a good job of making the place look beautiful that they should probably leave the decorations up all year! We were in the main room and the lunch menu was still be served. The choices are a good range of traditional style dishes. We had steak pie, mince n tatties, haggis, and club sandwich. While the prices are slightly more than you might pay elsewhere, it's well worth it because the quality is excellent.
My wife reckoned it was the best mince n tatties she'd ever had, including homemade! Service is really good, staff are excellent. Looking forward to going back soon. Own or manage this property? Claim your listing for free to respond to reviews, update your profile and much more.
