I did add some porcini mushrooms to the saute and used thyme instead of marjorum.

Also added a splash of unsweetened almond milk. My husband even liked it. As his initial response to meatloaf was 'ill make something else' he ate his words. I used oats instead of bread crumbs as a few people suggested but I also used salsa instead of ketchup — fewer calories, more nutrients, and less sugar. I want to make this tonight but I don't want to use breadcrumbs. What do you suggest as a substitute? Love this meatloaf. My husband and I love your turkey meatloaf— the only thing we change is to swap BBQ for the katsup, and add diced green bell pepper. I also add oats in addition to breadcrumbs because it helps it bind together better.
Thanks Gina! I prefer BBQ and oats. But really, it's the BBQ sauce that cuts down on the "gamey" tasted of the turkey. I also recently say a recommendation to bake them in muffin cups to regulate serving size- which I 'll do next time! Happy Cooking! Everything else is exactly the same. Could they be interchanged? Like the oatmeal be used for the big one or bread crumbs used for the petites? I'm an African American mom and I never thought this would taste sooo good. It was super moist!
I doubled the recipe and my children wanted even more of it. I'm loving this website. This will definitely be in my rotation for this winter. Loved this!!! I will never use ground beef in my meatloaf again! Very hard to believe something so yummy is low cal! Thanks for the great recipe! I made this tonight and it was awesome! Only change I made was adding a shredded carrot and half of a shredded zucchini to saute with the onions. Gina — On Weight Watchers and each day I make one of your amazing recipes. Thank you for all your wonderful recipes!!
I make this about twice a month! It's a hit in our household. I like to top with siracha. Or I turned a slice into a burger with english muffin buns…mmmm. This is fantastic! It will be a regular meal for us from now on. So I am trying to cut out most carbs because im crazy. Do you think this recipe would still hold up with out the bread crumbs? My kids tore it up!!
I didn't bother to tell them it was turkey. I will probably never go back to using ground beef. Very very good. No leftovers! My life revolves around Skinnytaste now! Whether with the slow cooker or recipes like this, it has made my New Year's resolution of cooking at home way more fun and easy! I haven't given up on the resolution yet and I am only more inclined to cook more and more everyday as the year progresses!
I made this Turkey Meatloaf last night for dinner and it was delicious! My husband was somewhat skeptical about the turkey aspect, but he was happily surprised once he tried it! As always, thanks for your awesome skinny recipes!
Made this last night and it's delicious!! Came out super-moist and delicious! So happy that this was my first try at meatloaf because it it amazing. I wonder if this would work with ground chicken?! I'm living in Japan and turkey is basically impossible to find in any shape or form! It looks delicious though and I'd love to try it!! I made this 3 times already and everybody loves it!! I was wondering do you know how many kcal does it have per ounce? Or 4oz as a servign size? Made this last night and added chopped zucchini, green, yellow, and red peppers.
Major hit with the hubby!! I made a few changes that did not impact the point value. Definitely a keeper! I added green peppers, a little bbq sauce, and a ts of crushed red pepper for some kick. LOVE this meatloaf! It's sooo delicious, dare I say I love it more than my mothers…don't tell her I said that as she makes a mean meatloaf to begin with! This is great to make on a Sunday as it provides me lunch all week.
I Love this meatloaf, it is the first turkey meatloaf that I have found that's tasty! The sandwich is worth making that meatloaf every week!! Thank you so much, Paula. Great dinner!! Can't even tell its a healthy dish because there is so much flavor to it! That was a bone-headed move. So pleased with how this turned out.
I had tried to simply alter my old beef meatloaf into turkey meatloaf, but it was a dismal attempt. This recipe was flavorful and moist. This was such a great recipe! I was a bit skeptical about trying this as I'm not a fan of ground turkey unless it's drenched in some kind of sauce but after reading all the comments, I decided to give it a try along with your garlic mashed potatoes. One word… WOW! So moist and delicious. This will definitely be going into my weekly rotation. Thanks Gina!! Such a great recipe! I made this last night with a few modifications doubled the amount of onions, threw in some extra spices — red pepper flakes, thyme, garlic salt, and brushed the top with a mix of bbq sauce and ketchup instead of worcestershire sauce.
It's really moist and tastes just as good the 2nd day! I made this recipe last night and I must say it was phenomenal. I've already had three friends ask for this recipe as well. This will definitely be my new go to meatloaf. My husband has a major dislike with onions and peppers, any suggestions what I could use in place of onions for this? Any ideas about freezing? Should I cook first or freeze uncooked? Any ideas on baking times if made in muffin tins for single serviings? I made this on Monday night, but added a couple of cloves of garlic to saute with the onions, 2 heaping spoonfuls of nutritional yeast, a few shakes of cayenne, some garlic powder, and cinnamon to the turkey mixture and on a whim, threw in an entire cubed heirloom tomato.
Easy Turkey Meatloaf Recipe
It was so good! This meatloaf was delicious! And my English, meatloaf hating, leftover snob husband asked me if there was enough left for him to have it for dinner tonight! Not only is this an excellent meatloaf recipe, but you've just saved me some serious money no longer having to buy imported brown sauce at the grocery store — now I can make it myself! So, how did you get it to Brown up nicely? This was by far the best meatloaf I've made, but I subbed a cup of fresh breadcrumbs I keep in the freezer and added a little milk.
I also use lean instead of extra lean, because I'm feeding three boys. I made this for dinner tonight and it was really good. I made my own whole wheat bread crumbs, used reduced sugar ketchup, egg whites instead of a whole egg and added a few dashes of Worcestershire. This will defiantly be my go-to meatloaf. It's the only recipe that I've been able to make without drying out.
Easy Turkey Meatloaf Recipe - Skinnytaste
It was delicious. How many pts would I add for the beef instead of turkey? Love it, love it, love it. My kids hated meatloaf, until this. I serve it with fresh parmesan green beans. Gina, my husband first made me this meatloaf years ago. I think I've tried it once or twice since then and am craving it again. Just wanted to add to the chorus of "yum". Hi all…I made this today but added just a few changes…Instead of 1 egg, I did 2 egg whites…also added some Worchestire sauce and garlic powder…. Great recipe Gina….

I made this for dinner tonight along with your garlic mashed potatoes. My husband loved it! He couldn't fathom how moist and yummy it was. He said that his mother's meatloaf always came out dry and it needed ketchup for moistening. He pulled out ketchup tonight in preparation to use on the meatloaf but never used it!
He said it would be an insult to the meatloaf and me since it wasn't even necessary. Thanks Gina for sharing such wonderfully yummy and skinny recipes! Even my skeptical family enjoyed it. My daughter said she liked it better than regular meatloaf! Will definitely make again! Thanks for all of your recipes, Gina! Made this tonight and wasn't really sure what to expect. I'm not a huge fan of meatloaf, in general, but the reviews were so good and it's stuff I pretty much always have in the house, so I decided to give it a shot, and I am so glad I did!
I doubled the recipe and added minced garlic to the onions when I sauteed them. I also added a little worchestire sauce. Other than that, I followed the recipe and free-formed the loaf on a sheet pan and coated it with some ketchup. I was definitely pleasantly surprised by it, as was my husband. And 2 out of 3 of our kids ate it up too, so it is definitely being added to the rotation.
Served it with garlic mashed potatoes and roasted asparagus…. I made this for dinner tonight, and it was delicious! I liked it better than the recipe I had been using from a WW cookbook. We couldn't even tell it was turkey. I added some chopped mushrooms I wanted to use up, so that probably added moisture as well. My only question is, how much salt? That seemed to be enough without making it too salty. I split the mixture into 2 smaller loaf pans and cooked about 40 minutes. This is a keeper! Will be making it again ASAP! My husband loves his mother's meatloaf and liked this one even better!
Plus, it's much healthier! I made this a couple of weeks ago, and when I asked my boyfriend what he wanted me to make for dinner on Valentine's Day he requested this! I love that you can eat so much of it for so little points. Last time we put ketchup on top but this time I might put some bbq sauce or hot sauce on top.
This was delicious! I started on weight watchers two weeks ago and stumbled upon this blog — and I'm in love with it!!
Meatloaf was delicious! This is about the twentieth recipe I have made from your website and once again… brilliant and delicious! I have made turkey meatloaf a couple other times and have not liked it, but this recipe was great! I topped it with a ketchup and brown sugar glaze… definitely added to the point value, but it was worth it! Thanks again for a great recipe! I had it with low fat baked mac and cheese and it was great.
This was easy to make and so yummy. I liked it cold on a sandwich too. I'll be making it again soon. Thank you for the recipes. I plan making a few more tomorrow. Our meatloaf looked a bit odd on top after we took it out of the oven, however I liked the texture, and it was very tasty. Due to the generous portion size, if you are a ketchup person, plan on extra points or you will probably run out!
Hi Gina, I was a little skeptical to make this because it's not the prettiest meatloaf I've ever seen but after my sister recommended it I had to give it a shot. This is definitely getting added to our regular rotation. Thank you so much for your wonderful recipes! I have been on WW for almost a year now.
I just found your web site and I am hooked. I'm not that great of a cook, but this is helping. Love your blog. One question on the meatloaf. I have a thing about texture, can I use powdered union instead of the real thing? If so, how much? I'm sure you can shred carrots or any veggies and have the same results.
I do this with my turkey burgers and some meatballs. I usually use zucchini. My meatloaf cupcakes have zucchini. Ketchup could be added before you bake it, see my petite meatloaves. What about adding veggies to the mixture? Like Carrots, celery and peppers? How would you make it stick together better? Made this today — was fantastic. I used cooking spray instead of the oil and ketchup with lower sugar so the recipe came out to 5 WW pts for 2 slices.
I also added more sauted veggies to the meatloaf diced bell peppers and carrots — great way to trick the kids into eating more veggies! I made this turkey meatloaf last night and it was wonderful! I just had a leftover piece for breakfast and it's so good. I used one egg white instead of a whole egg, and I didn't have marjoram so I used oregano.
Are two slices equivalent to 6. I'm new to weight watchers and kinda lost on what I can eat…! Would that still work or should I adjust the baking time or buy the bigger pan? I have made many of your recipes over the years and this was also delicious! I added in spinach and mushrooms as well. I made this tonight and instead of the marjoram I added Mrs Dash onion and herb salt free seasoning,it was delicious. I make a similar recipe to this one.
It's amazing! Fantastic meatloaf recipe. Cannot even tell it's ground turkey! Thanks for the great recipes!!! This looks good. Have you ever tried making meatloaf with oats instead of bread crumbs? I've been using Paual Deen's meatloaf recipe which calls for them. I also love my meatloaf topped with ketchup before baking.
Wow, it looks like you've made another turkey meatloaf convert! The only changes I made to your recipe were: I substituted 1T Mrs. Dash for the marjoram, and added 1T garlic-flavored worcestershire. Just made this last night. Was very good! This was so good. I've always been skeptical of turkey loaves but I'll never go back to beef now. Made it with baked fries and your green beans with garlic and oil!
Yum Yum! I have tried many of your recipes since joining weight watchers 2 weeks ago, and have totally loved every single one. I am a big fan of meatloaf. I usually use veal, pork, and beef. I'm going to try this tomorrow night, and I have no doubt I'll love it. A good tip is to grate the onion with a hand grater over the bowl so you get the juice from the onion in there. It helps keep it nice and moist and flavorful. Same thing with garlic cloves too! Thank you for all your fabulous recipes.
They're a life saver! I was skeptical about making this as I thought I didn't like ground turkey. It turned out great and I actually liked this recipe better than the one I usually make with ground beef! I made 4 individual loaves out of it and baked it for about 30 minutes. Even my husband liked it. Thanks for all the great recipes!
I started WW one week ago and found this blog, tonight I made 4th recipe of yours! This was great meatloaf, again my boyfriend who is in shape and not a dieter loved it. SO glad to have found this site with great food, that we both enjoy! My first turkey meatloaf and its my new go to! When you say you use 4c whole wheat bread crumbs. What exactly do you mean? I wonder if this would be good if you substituted the bread crumbs for ground up Fiber One Cereal? I love meatloaf. Yummy meatloaf! I added some finely chopped red bell pepper for some sweetness.
Topped it off with a little bit of ketchup before it went in the oven. Just recently found this site and love all the recipe ideas!! Thank you so much for having the Points Plus values also! I made this Turkey Meatloaf tonight for dinner and loved it. My husband even liked it! I didn't tell him it was ground turkey until he had eaten 3 slices of it!!
I just made this last night along with the Creamy Grape Dessert and it was amazing!! The best turkey meatloaf I have ever had. My husband hates ground turkey, but he even liked it. I didn't have marjoram so I added a little dried basil and garlic powder…. I also spread a little ketchup on top before baking. I just recently found your site and I am so glad I did! I made this meatloaf last night and OMG it is awesome! My husband and I are always looking for new WW recipes and this is one of the best that we have found!
I served it with the garlic mashed potatoes which were also so good! Thank you so much for all of the great recipes. I look forward to trying many more! I have never been a fan of Mealoaf, but I absolutely love this recipe. The second time I made it, I added a some garlic, sage, thyme and ground cayenne pepper. Wonderful recipe! I added minced garlic and mushrooms. My 7-year-old even ate it!
Thank you!!!! Made it for my boyfriend and my mother and they couldn't believe it was Weight Watchers friendly. I had all I could do to not have second helping :o. I added 4 slices of crumbled turkey bacon too! Caroline SmartyPantsMama. I made this tonight. It was wonderful! My husband loved it. Very filling! Very tasty turkey meatloaf. I bought some minced turkey to make rissoles. The turkey would not mix like ground beef. What did I do wrong? This is the BEST! My husband won't get meatloaf out anymore and my one year old eats a whole slice to himself!!
We've made it 3 times already. Definately a keeper. It depends on how thick you slice it!! Cut it in 8 slices and serving size would be 2 slices each. I see that the serving size is 4 so does that mean you only have 4 slices? If I made 8 slices would the serving size be 2 slices? Could you do this with oatmeal instead of bread crumbs like the petite version??
Which is healthier? I have made this twice too. Absolutely delish. I prefer the texture of ground turkey to ground beef, and I had never tried it before making this recipe. I made this twice now. It's delicious and moist. I did spread a thin layer of ketchup on the top. Gina, made turkey meatloaf last night with your loaf pan idea — awesome! I think it kept it more compact and moist. I gave you a shout-out on my blog!! That is exactly how I make my turkey meatloaf!!! So delish! I never thought of putting it in a loaf pan, though — great idea!!
I will try it this week! Yum yum! I have some ground sirloin 1 pt per oz that I wanted to make some mini meatloaves out of! This looks delicious.
